Planete Enfants & Développement

Since 1984, Planète Enfants & Développement (Planet Children & Development) has had a unique ambition: to give endangered children in Asia and Africa a chance to grow up, develop and pass on, from early childhood onwards.

Established in 4 countries, PE&D works in contexts and with populations it knows well: in Cambodia since 1984, in Vietnam since 1993, in Nepal since 1997, in Burkina Faso since 2004.

Their cause: vulnerable children deprived of their rights

The International Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted by the United Nations in 2009, advocates the need to create conditions enabling children to exercise their rights, in particular the right to have an identity, the right to health, education and leisure, to protection against all forms of violence, and to a standard of living adequate for their development. Yet many children’s rights are violated. In addition to the distress it causes, the lack of respect for children’s rights is detrimental to the development and well-being of all societies.

Their mission: to act holistically on behalf of the most vulnerable children.
PE&D does not act “in place of”. Beneficiaries and local players are involved in finding and implementing solutions.

The association’s programs reach more than 16,000 beneficiaries a year, and cover a wide range of fields: opening day-care centers and health services for the children of women Tex workers, etc.

Caring for toddlers to awaken their curiosity

The development of daycare allows women to live their professional lives to the full while ensuring that their children are well cared for.

Training preschool educators

The association focuses on training pre-school educators to enable children to develop their full potential.

Developing preschools

In many countries, children under the age of 6 don't attend school at all, even though this early start will facilitate future learning.
